PRECISE COFFEE DISTRIBUTION FOR ESPRESSO
The MHW-3BOMBER Lightning WDT Tool 2.0 is a precision espresso needle distribution tool designed to distribute ground coffee more evenly inside the portafilter basket.
Its eight fine 0.4 mm needles help break up clumps and distribute coffee grounds before tamping. This can reduce density inconsistencies within the coffee bed and support more even preparation for espresso extraction.
8 × 0.4 MM WDT NEEDLES
The eight thin needles move through the coffee grounds with minimal displacement and are designed for the Weiss Distribution Technique (WDT).
Using gentle circular movements helps to:
- break up clumps in ground coffee
- reduce voids within the coffee bed
- distribute coffee grounds more evenly
- improve puck preparation before tamping
- reduce the risk of channeling during extraction
ADJUSTABLE NEEDLE SPREAD
The Lightning WDT Tool 2.0 features an adjustable needle arrangement.
By rotating the adjustment mechanism, the spread of the needles can be changed to suit different portafilter baskets and personal WDT techniques.
MAGNETIC STORAGE STAND
The included stand provides a clean and convenient place to store the WDT tool between uses.
Its magnetic holder keeps the tool securely positioned on the stand while helping protect the fine needles from unnecessary contact with the work surface.
DURABLE MATERIAL CONSTRUCTION
The WDT tool combines SUS304 stainless steel and aluminium alloy for a durable construction designed for regular espresso preparation.
The set also includes 6 replacement needles.
HOW TO USE
- Add freshly ground coffee to the portafilter basket.
- Insert the WDT tool vertically into the coffee bed.
- Use small, controlled circular movements to distribute the grounds.
- Break up any remaining clumps.
- Level the surface of the coffee bed.
- Remove the WDT tool and tamp as usual.
